  • Jurisdictional Compliance: You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Coti Wallet complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

Platform Requirements

  • Supported Systems: Coti Wallet is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. You are responsible for ensuring your system meets the minimum requirements for running the wallet.
  • Software Updates: We recommend keeping your operating system and Coti Wallet updated to the latest versions for optimal security and functionality.

Prohibited Jurisdictions

  • Sanctions Compliance: You may not use Coti Wallet if you are located in, or a citizen or resident of, any jurisdiction where the use of cryptocurrency wallets is prohibited by law or international sanctions.
  • Restricted Activities: You must not use Coti Wallet for any purpose that violates applicable laws, including but not limited to money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion.

2. Description of Service

Coti Wallet is a non-custodial, open-source cryptocurrency wallet that allows you to securely store, send, receive, and manage digital assets across multiple blockchain networks.

Core Features

  • Multi-Chain Support: Manage Bitcoin, Ethereum, COTI, and hundreds of other cryptocurrencies and tokens across multiple blockchain networks from a single interface.
  • Non-Custodial Architecture: You maintain complete control of your private keys and digital assets. Coti Wallet does not have access to your funds or the ability to freeze, reverse, or cancel transactions.
  • Transaction Management: Send, receive, and track cryptocurrency transactions across supported blockchain networks.
  • DeFi Integration: Access decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, and other DeFi services directly through the wallet interface.
  • Portfolio Tracking: Monitor your cryptocurrency holdings and their values in real-time across multiple networks.

Platform Availability

  • Desktop Applications: Native applications optimized for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, providing full wallet functionality.
  • Cross-Platform Compatibility: Your wallet can be restored on any supported platform using your seed phrase, allowing flexibility in how you access your assets.
  • Offline Capabilities: Certain features, such as viewing your wallet addresses and generating transactions for later broadcast, are available offline.

Service Limitations

  • Blockchain Dependency: Our service relies on third-party blockchain networks. We do not control these networks and cannot guarantee their availability, performance, or security.
  • Network Fees: Blockchain transactions require network fees (gas fees) that are paid to blockchain validators, not to Coti Wallet. These fees are determined by network conditions and are subject to change.
  • No Account Recovery: As a non-custodial wallet, we cannot recover your wallet if you lose your seed phrase or password. You are solely responsible for backing up and securing this information.

3. Wallet Security and Private Key Responsibility

The security of your wallet and digital assets is primarily your responsibility. Understanding and following security best practices is essential.

Your Security Obligations

  • Seed Phrase Protection: Your seed phrase (recovery phrase) is the master key to your wallet. You must store it securely, preferably written on paper and kept in a safe location. Never store it digitally or share it with anyone, including Coti Wallet support.
  • Password Security: Create a strong, unique password for your wallet. Do not reuse passwords from other services. We recommend using a password manager to generate and store complex passwords.
  • Private Key Confidentiality: Your private keys must remain confidential at all times. Never share your private keys, seed phrase, or wallet password with anyone. Coti Wallet will never ask for this information.
  • Backup Responsibility: You must create and securely store backups of your seed phrase. Loss of your seed phrase without a backup will result in permanent loss of access to your funds.
  • Device Security: Maintain the security of devices where Coti Wallet is installed. Use antivirus software, keep your operating system updated, and avoid using the wallet on shared or compromised devices.

Security Features and Best Practices

  • Two-Factor Authentication: Enable all available security features, including two-factor authentication and biometric authentication where supported.
  • Transaction Verification: Always carefully verify transaction details, including recipient addresses and amounts, before confirming transactions. Blockchain transactions are irreversible.
  • Phishing Protection: Be vigilant against phishing attempts. Always download Coti Wallet from official sources and verify the authenticity of communications claiming to be from Coti Wallet.
  • Regular Updates: Keep Coti Wallet updated to the latest version to benefit from security patches and improvements.

No Recovery Service

  • Irreversible Loss: If you lose your seed phrase and password, we cannot recover your wallet or your funds. This is a fundamental characteristic of non-custodial wallets.
  • No Support Access: Coti Wallet support cannot access your wallet, reset your password, or recover your seed phrase. Be extremely cautious with this information.
  • Scam Warning: Anyone claiming they can recover your wallet without your seed phrase is attempting to scam you. Never provide your seed phrase to anyone claiming to offer recovery services.

4. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

As a user of Coti Wallet, you agree to use the service responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

General Responsibilities

  • Legal Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Coti Wallet and your cryptocurrency transactions comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and tax obligations in your jurisdiction.
  • Transaction Accuracy: You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all transaction information, including recipient addresses, amounts, and network fees. Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed.
  • Due Diligence: You must conduct your own research and due diligence before engaging in any cryptocurrency transactions or interacting with DeFi protocols through the wallet.
  • Risk Understanding: You acknowledge that cryptocurrency transactions involve significant risks, including market volatility, loss of funds, and technical failures. You accept all risks associated with using Coti Wallet.

Prohibited Activities

  • Illegal Activities: You may not use Coti Wallet for any illegal purposes, including but not limited to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or purchasing illegal goods or services.
  • Sanctions Violations: You may not use Coti Wallet to transact with individuals or entities subject to economic sanctions or located in sanctioned jurisdictions.

  • System Abuse: You may not attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or otherwise compromise the security or functionality of Coti Wallet.
  • Impersonation: You may not impersonate Coti Wallet, its employees, or other users, or create fake accounts to deceive others.

Monitoring and Enforcement

  • Limited Monitoring: As a non-custodial wallet, we do not monitor individual transactions or wallet activities. However, we may take action if we become aware of violations of these terms.
  • Cooperation with Authorities: We reserve the right to cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities when required by law or when we believe it is necessary to prevent illegal activity.
  • Service Termination: We reserve the right to terminate access to our services, including software updates and support, for users who violate these terms.

5. Third-Party Services and Integrations

Coti Wallet integrates with various third-party services and protocols to provide comprehensive functionality. Your use of these services is subject to additional terms.

DeFi Protocol Integration

  • Direct Interaction: When you use DeFi features such as decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, or yield farming protocols through Coti Wallet, you interact directly with those third-party protocols.
  • Third-Party Terms: Each DeFi protocol has its own terms of service, risks, and smart contract code. You are responsible for reviewing and understanding these terms before using any protocol.
  • Smart Contract Risks: Smart contracts may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or unexpected behavior. Coti Wallet does not audit or guarantee the security of third-party smart contracts.
  • No Endorsement: The availability of a DeFi protocol through Coti Wallet does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation. You must conduct your own research.

Blockchain Networks

  • Network Dependency: Coti Wallet relies on blockchain networks operated by third parties. We do not control these networks and cannot guarantee their availability, security, or performance.
  • Network Changes: Blockchain networks may undergo upgrades, hard forks, or other changes that could affect your assets or transactions. You are responsible for staying informed about network developments.
  • Network Fees: Transaction fees (gas fees) are determined by blockchain networks and paid to network validators. These fees are separate from any fees charged by Coti Wallet.
  • Network Congestion: During periods of high network activity, transactions may be delayed or require higher fees. Coti Wallet is not responsible for network congestion or delays.

Third-Party Data Providers

  • Price Data: Cryptocurrency prices and market data displayed in Coti Wallet are provided by third-party data providers and may not be accurate, complete, or up-to-date.
  • Node Providers: We use third-party node providers to connect to blockchain networks. These providers may have their own terms of service and privacy policies.
  • No Liability for Third Parties: Coti Wallet is not responsible for the actions, errors, or omissions of third-party service providers, including DeFi protocols, blockchain networks, or data providers.

Hardware Wallet Integration

  • Device Compatibility: Coti Wallet supports integration with certain hardware wallets for enhanced security. Compatibility is subject to the hardware manufacturer's specifications.
  • Manufacturer Terms: Use of hardware wallets is subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions. Coti Wallet is not responsible for hardware wallet malfunctions or security issues.
